Richard Sidey is an independent filmmaker, media designer and professional photographer based in Wanaka, New Zealand. Growing up around the mountains, Richard became a keen outdoor enthusiast and quickly developed a love for nature photography and storytelling. He graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design at Massey University in Wellington, 2004, where he concentrated on experimental time-based media and produced the award winning short film 'Aeon', a documentary depicting Wellington through a Zen influenced eastern perspective.

Richard was briefky involved with the television industry, at Taylormade Media before leaving his shores to work his way around the globe over the next few years. Now back in New Zealand, he is a freelancer, but stll travels to the polar regions each year with Silversea Expeditions to document their voyages for their clients.
